I live on the Thames in the UK on a 50 foot sailing barge with my husband and my 10 month old son, Digby. I was home schooled myself from the age of 13 and we intend to educate Digby at home too. We hope to travel on our boat too so are very keen to get involved in all sorts of networks as I think a sense of community for this sort of thing is really helpful. I am a trained primary school teacher and was teaching a class of 9 year olds in an independent school before I went on maternity leave. I am currently teaching the school choir as Music is my specialist subject. I also teach piano from home and run musical theatre groups. I would love to get involved with a group of home schoolers locally so that we can set up some group activities, especially music and drama, and all things to do with the river. We have had children to stay on the boat and had wonderful extra curricular activities on the go - bringing alive geography, history, science etc. through practical application rather than boring text books. I look fowrard to chatting to others and sharing ideas and plans.
